Samsung came out with its new full touch screen phone Galaxy S in the month of June 2010. The Samsung Galaxy S is a light weight and stylish phone weighing just 121 grams and has physical dimensions of 122.4 x 64.2 x 9.9 mm. The new Samsung Galaxy S is available only in black colour.
This phone has 4 inches super AMOLED capacitive touch screen with 16 million colors and 480×800 pixels. The touch screen used here uses a TouchWiz 3.0 user interface. Multi-touch input method, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, touch-sensitive controls, proximity sensor for auto turn-off and swype text input are some of its other features.
The Samsung Galaxy S has a good 5 mega pixel camera with auto focus feature. It has a secondary VGA camera and some other descent features like Geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection.
The Samsung Galaxy S has an internal memory of 16 Gb out of which 2 Gb is kept for system storage. The memory is expandable up to 32 GB by using micro SD card. The new Samsung Galaxy S is a high end phone in terms of connectivity as it supports Bluetooth v3.0, micro USB v2.0, 3G and Edge technology. Apart from this it uses class 12 GPRS and also have Wi-Fi for web browsing.
Li-Po 1500 mAh standard battery used in the Samsung Galaxy S has a standby time up to 590 h for 2G and up to 490 h for 3G and the talk time up to 15 h 30 min for 2G and 7 h 30 min for 3G. Operating system used in this phone is Android and ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor for efficient working. HTML is use for browsing the internet. MP4, DivX, WMV, H.264 and H.263 are the video formats and MP3, WAV, eAAC+, AC3 and FLAC are the audio formats supported by this phone. This phone also has the feature of GPS. DMB TV, digital compass, organizer, image/video editor, document editor, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, You Tube, Calendar, Google Talk, Picasa integration, Flash Lite v3.1 and voice memo/dial/commands are some its additional features which are quite good as well. This is a superb phone which can challenge the iPhone 4.
